Tryouts
What to Expect
- When players arrive, they will receive a number that will pin to the back of their shirt.
- Each family will receive a packet of information about Elevate Northwest and the great things we’re doing in the baseball community!
- We encourage each family to write their number on their packet materials (or otherwise record it), because those numbers are how we’ll communicate about results.
- Players will start on our turf field with defense and pitching, and then work their way inside for hitting.
- At the end of tryouts we will communicate with everyone regarding the process. We may also make offers the day of tryouts, and you’ll be able to join the Elevate family right then and there!

WHAT WE EVALUATE
- Defense – Evaluated on infield AND outfield skills, overall athleticism, arm strength.
- Pitching – Evaluated on velocity, command, secondary pitches (if applicable), overall movement quality.
- Catching – Evaluated on receiving, blocking, handling live pitchers, overall athleticism.
- Hitting – Evaluated on contact, power, athleticism, overall movement quality.
AGE CUTOFFS FOR TEAMS
Note that tournament league age is different than Little League age. For tournaments, we use an age cutoff of May 1st. Your son or daughter will be trying out for the team based on how old they will be on May 1st 2025. Please see the complete chart below for your specific team eligibility.

*Note: 15u players play in the 16u division, and 17u players play in the 18u division. Additionally, for some tournaments, high school-aged players will play according to their graduation year.

When are Tryouts?
Tryouts for the 2025-26 season will begin in June. Tryouts will continue through the fourth week in July. We will have many roster openings at every age group, as well as openings for groups and teams.
